Studio Policies

All students are required to have a medical release on file before participating in classes at Elation Dance Center.  Please sign and return the medical release form with your September tuition payment. 

Cancellations

In the event of inclement weather, Elation Dance Center will follow the Kettle Moraine School District closings.  Closings will be recorded on our voicemail by 3 p.m. If classes are cancelled, dancers may make up the class by attending an alternate class within one month of the cancellation.

Class Placement

Dancers are assigned classes based on experience, technique and progress. Technical Track and Company Classes require an audition and additional requirements.  2009-2010 Audition is August 17-28.  Enrollment is required.  Register Now.    

Technical Track Class Requirements

1.      Audition

2.      Ballet 3x/week

3.      Pointe Optional

4.      Participation in American Academy of Ballet Performance

Dancers are required to take ballet 3 times per week when enrolled in the technical track ballet class.  Dancers should register for their regular level ballet class, black company ballet and the technical track ballet class. 

Pre-Pointe Class Requirements

1.      Eleven years old with at least three years of ballet or instructors approval

2.      Enrollment in ballet class

This is preparatory class for students wishing to dance en pointe. Most dancers will need a year or more of this prep course before being ready to dance en pointe and an additional year of beginning pointe work in this class.

Company Class Requirements

1.      Audition

2.      Enrollment in ballet and jazz class

3.      Attend one convention (additional fees apply)

4.      Purchase of company leotard, warm up, tights, shoes, and any other required costume pieces

5.      Attend community performance commitments as scheduled

6.      Attend extra rehearsals as needed (additional fees apply)

7.      Participation in American Academy of Ballet Performance

Checks should be made payable to Elation Dance Center.  Payment is due September 15^th and January 15^th.

White Co: $250

Blue Co: $300 (includes company ballet class)

Black Co: $320 (includes company ballet class)

Dress Code

Dancewear and shoes may be purchased in our store or online.  Introductory Class items are available at www.dancewearsolutions.com.  All other class items are available at www.discountdancesupply.com.  Dancers should be dressed appropriately for all classes at Elation Dance Center.  Dancers will not be allowed to participate in class unless they are dressed in the required dancewear.  Hair should be in a low bun for all classes.  For safety reasons, no jewelry or gum is allowed in dance class.
